I Am...

While we were at the beach for a few days, a former colleague emailed me and asked if I was interested in participating in a blog post that would celebrate all the things that I am.  Whitney Meade of The Meade Feed wanted women to celebrate all the positive things they are instead of focusing on the things that Satan uses to attack us.  It took me a little while to respond to her because, if I'm being honest, I did not think that I would have a list worthy enough to celebrate the things that I am...positive things, that is.  I thought about it for hours and the list I came up with was something along the lines of...I am impatient, overweight, hyper-sensitive...and then it dawned on me that those are the things that Satan uses to attack me.

I prayed about participating in this post and what were the things that made me...well, me.  What are those things that I can celebrate and thank God for?  This morning, before opening the blinds and starting the day, I prayed again about what my post should be about.  Without the Truth, I would never be able to come up with a list of positive things about myself.  But, as sure as I sit here and type, I heard in my heart God speak to me.  And this is what I heard..."I am the way, the truth and the life."  (John 14:6)

So, through the power of the Holy Spirit, here it goes:

I AM royalty because I am daughter to the King.

I AM a follower of Christ.  Though I make mistakes and stumble, I seek to follow in His footsteps every day.

I AM blessed to be a mother (and step-mother) to two of the most precious gifts from above.

I AM a wife, daughter, and sister to the most loving family a woman could hope for.

I AM a best friend to two women who God has placed in my life to strengthen me, encourage me, and love me.

I AM a hard worker---both at home and in the office.

I AM an organizer---events, closets, to-do lists...you name it, I can organize it.

I AM a neat freak who is also working on finding peace during the messiness.

I AM a reader---Scripture, newspapers, blogs, magazines, or books...I love to read!  I wish there was an adult version of the Book-It club...anybody know what I'm talking about?

I AM loyal, trust-worthy, kind, compassionate, and loving in all of my relationships.

I AM fearfully and wonderfully made...despite what the world tries to tell me, I am perfect just the way God made me.

Today I celebrate all the blessings God has given me and all the things that make me unique.  Today I choose to focus on the positive things I am.

May God reveal to you all the things you are in His eyes.  May you see those attributes as Truth.  May you celebrate the positive and ignore the negative.  May you know, beyond all doubt, that you are loved and cherished by the One who created you.
