double digits, what?!!

Sweet Petite, your mama is struggling with this double-digit milestone.  You are 10 months old today!  I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I need to start planning your first birthday.  Your first birthday!!

But nonetheless, time marches on, and you are marching full speed ahead with it!  You are getting so big and you let us know by throwing your hands over your head when we say, "Harper is SOOOO big!"

This month your personality has really started to shine.  You have always been a relaxed, happy baby.   But this month, you have started to interact more with others and turn on the charm.  You do experience a few shy moments, then you cling to Mommy with a tight grip.  But those moments are fleeting.

You are blowing kisses and waving bye-bye.  You are babbling a mile a minute.  {Ever since you got your tubes in your ears, you have talked non-stop.  Even in your sleep some nights.}  You have started to point when you talk, which has turned you into a lil' Bossy Britches.  It is precious!  You only added one word to your vocabulary this month.  Papa!  It made him so happy!  People say you look a little like Papa.

Blowing Daddy bye-bye sugar one morning!
Speaking of tubes, you were such a great little patient.  You were a bit confused coming out from anesthesia, but you recovered quickly after having a bottle.  You slept for most of the day beside Daddy on the couch.  At 3:30pm, you woke up, gave a big smile and said "Hi".  And then you played full force for the rest of the day.

You are stashing your pacis under the bumper pads in your crib.  You go to bed with one and we find you like this.  One in your left hand, one in your mouth, and two beside you.  It might be time to say bye-bye to the paci.

You have added some more favorites to your menu.  You love avocado, mango, nectarines, and butterbeans.  You gobbled up some butternut squash, mashed potatoes and cabbage.  We are letting you experiment more with the school menu for lunch and snacks, but don't worry, I still pack your food.  Just in case you don't like what they have.  And just this past weekend, you loved {absolutely loved!} Aunt Jane's homemade biscuits and Mexican rice.  Daddy and I pray that you always eat healthy and enjoy your fruits and veggies as much as you do now.

One of your top teeth popped through last Monday.  You spiked a fever on Sunday night and by Monday, you had a new tooth.  This weekend, we found you grinding those top and bottom teeth together.  It nearly sent me over the edge.  Not a pretty sound!

You are wearing 12 month clothes, size 2 shoes, and a size 3 diaper.  Mommy {and Nana} finally got you some pajamas that fit!  Finding size 12 month pajamas was a bit of a chore.  At your last doctor's appointment, you were 19.9 pounds and 28 inches.  You are growing like a weed.

You are crawling at break-neck speed.  You want to walk so bad, but you haven't found the courage to just let go and try.  We keep encouraging you at home.  I'm sure it won't be long!

With the Spring weather, we are spending more time outside.  You loved swinging at the park over the weekend!  Daddy would stop the swing and you would kick your legs to make him go!  It was so cute!  See for yourself.

Harper, Mommy loves you 30 times more than I did this time last month.  That is because I love you a little more each day.  I wish I could describe the feeling to you.  It is indescribable, really.  You are a constant source of joy for me and Daddy!  You fill us up to the brim and overflowing.  We love you to Heaven and back, our sweet angel.
