Brave.  Are you?  Am I?

I have rolled this word around in my head today.  Pondering my actions.  Questioning my decisions.

Am I brave?

Are you?

Being brave means you are loving and joyful and peaceful.  Patient and kind and good.  Faithful and gentle and self-controlled.  It means you bear fruit.  Good fruit.  Fruit that lasts.  Despite the meanness of this world, you bear fruit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. "
Galatians 5: 22-23

Being brave means you live a life worthy of the calling you have been given.  And whatever you do, you do it to bring glory to God.  Despite the world's standards of success, you work for the Lord, not for man.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do,
do it all for the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31

"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live
a life worthy of the calling you have received."
  Ephesians 4:1

Being brave means you live your life worthy of Christ.  You live your life in such a manner that it tells the story of the gospel.

"Live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ."
  Philippians 1: 27

Are you brave?   Am I?
