Preparing for Baby Harper...

This week marks my last full week of work and it felt like two whole weeks rolled into five days.  I had my 38 week appointment with Dr. Emerson and when he walked into the room he asked, "How are you feeling?"  To which I replied, "I actually feel pregnant this week."  It's true...the past 9 months have been pretty easy.  No morning sickness, not many sleepless nights, no horrific heartburn (Zantac has been knocking that out since 20 weeks), and surprisingly not many Braxton Hicks contractions.  But this week....oh my gosh, this week, the sheer exhaustion of being pregnant hit me like a ton a bricks.  It was hard to roll out of bed in the morning.  As you can imagine, it's hard for a elephant to roll over anyway, but the thought of going through the process of getting ready for work warranted a nap.   And today, I actually thought the clock had stopped at work.  The day seemed to drag on F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!  But the grand prize at the end of the day, a visit with my favorite stylist in the world; the woman who has been running her fingers through my hair for the past 16 years.  So, I now am sporting a fresh cut and some much needed color.  Whoever said that pregnant women would have Hollywood hair was wrong...apparently that is not the case for everyone or maybe just for me.

I plan to spend the rest of the weekend relaxing and making the final preparations for Harper's grand debut.  I can hardly believe that I will be loving on my precious daughter soon.  I am full of emotions at the thought of meeting her for the first time and kissing her sweet cheeks.  Her daddy, brother and I are ready to welcome her home...and her room is ready and waiting for her.
