there's something in those hills...

It's that time of year again...the smell of the pigskin, the tastes of tailgating, the sights of cute football fashion, the sounds of fans cheering, the feel of sweet victory...it's college football season!

I'm not an overly-enthusiastic football fan...and I'm especially not a fan of the snippy comments that opposing fans make to one another, my fellow fans included...but I am Tiger at heart! I heart Clemson football season!

The most exciting 25 seconds in college football commences today at 3:30...the Tigers will rub the rock and run down the hill...fans will cheer and an ocean of orange and white will fill the sky and the stadium...I wish I was there in person to experience it. But I experience it in my heart every year...something in the hills that beckons me to return...but football is only one of the reasons why I love Clemson.

Clemson has a unique spirit about it that graduates and fans alike carry with them in their hearts forever.

In 1969, Joe Sherman, class of 1943, said it best, "There is something in these hills that brings together and binds together and holds together men and women of all persuasions, of all heights, sizes, weights and cultural backgrounds--something that cuts across every difference, spans every gap, penetrates every wall--something that makes a man or a woman stand taller, feel better and say with high pride to all within earshot, "I went to Clemson."

Well said, Joe, well said...I say with high pride, "I went to Clemson!"

So today, the hills beckon me and I cheer on my Tigers!

I hope you all have a great time cheering on your team! Bring on the touchdowns!
