awake

I follow The Gypsy Mama's blog.  She is encouraging and refreshing and real.  I love to read what she writes.  Every Friday, she hosts 5 minute Friday.  Today, I thought I would give it a go.

Now, that I'm a mama I fully understand the meaning of being awake.  Almost eight months ago, I enjoyed 8+ hours of uninterrupted sleep...every night...every single one.

Now, I wake up at the most random times.  Not because Sweet Petite is awake, but something rouses me from my coveted slumber and I stumble to her room to check on her.  And then I find myself watching her for a few minutes as she sleeps peacefully.

As I was pondering this today, I realized that my Father watches over me without sleeping.  He is always awake...wide awake.  He watches over me every single minute of every single day.  I take comfort in that knowledge.  I rest peacefully knowing He is on guard.

"He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber."
~Psalm 121:3

He watches over me.  He watches over you.  So, rest comfortably, knowing He will not fall asleep...He will not let you stumble.  He is keeping watch...always awake!

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Most important: comment and encourage the person who linked up before you.

  2. First of all, hello! It's nice to be a first-time reader. I LOVE your font! I immediately became all the more cozy and relaxed in my chair as your page loaded and your blog welcomed me. Fun and friendly!

Secondly, what a wonderful reminder that He is continually watching over us. I love the verse you referenced. It is so true; so joyfully, comfortably true. Thank you for your words of wisdom! They are enriching.
