{day fourteen} love letters raining down...

I'm a lover of words.

Words that encourage.  Words that love.  Words that heal.  Words that paint a picture and tell a story.  All at the same time.

The written word.  The spoken word.  The words that are sung.

And most importantly, the Living Word.

I am so grateful for words.

'Kind words are like honey—
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.'
Proverbs 16:24

Today, love letters started raining down from my heart to my fingers to the pen and page.

Each love letter had a different purpose.  A different message.  But the same meaning.

Words were written to encourage and build people up all over this town.  Words meant to tell the story of Jesus' love.  Words meant to bring hope and healing.

Three people crossed my heart this morning.  Two of which I know.  The other I will probably never meet.

Two cards were dropped in the mail.  The other in an undisclosed, public location.

'Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you.
Christ himself wrote it--not with ink, but with God's living Spirit,
not chiseled into stone, but carved into human lives--and we publish it.'
2 Corinthians 3:3

May the ones who receive my love letters know that I adore them.  May they know, beyond all doubt, they are loved by God.  May they feel His love wrapped around them like a warm, cozy blanket on this cold, dreary November day.  May they believe that I hold them in such high regard.  And may they know {yes, even the one whom I'll never meet} that somewhere in this town there is a Jesus-gal who is praying for them and loves them like crazy.

May my love letter...my very life...tell the story of Jesus' love.  And may I continue to share that story by writing love letters to others.
