{day twenty one} a gift worth the drive...

I stand amazed today at how friendships, real relationships born as a gift from God, can transcend all time and miles that separate.

From Ohio to Alabama to South Carolina, friends met and began a weekend of Thanksgiving.

A time to wrap arms tight around each other and silently praise God for women like these, while at the same time talking about hairstyles and paint and fabric choices. A time to just be in the presence of one another and know that all was right with the world, if not but for this split second in time. A time to remember and reflect. A time to dream for each other.

No matter the miles that separate there is a closeness that can not be explained. It is a joining of hearts that happened years ago. Hearts that stay connected past state lines and time zones.

Friendships like these don't happen everyday. They are gifts given generously from the Giver of all good gifts. And I will never be able to express my gratitude for two women who inspire and encourage and love me like only true friends could dare dream.
