a whirlwind of months....

{DISCLAIMER:  Beware, this is a two post kinda day!}

Happy 18 months, my angel!  18 months.  As in one year and six months.  As in six months from another birthday.  Whew!  I can barely keep up.

Let me be completely honest with you.  I remembered last night that you would be 18 months old today.  But this morning, I completely forgot.  Completely.

Until I was in a meeting and writing the date on my legal pad.  Whoops!

So, let me give you the run down....

You are wearing a size 6 diaper and requesting to use the potty on a regular basis.  You are completely fascinated with your potty seat that fits on the big girl potty.  You waste a lot of toilet paper, but I am trying my best to embrace it as a learning opportunity.

You are still wearing a size 5 shoe and size 24 months-2T clothes.  However, you are sporting Skylar Grace's red peacoat that is a 3T.  I want to cry a little every time you wear it.

You are talking in phrases and sentences.  It is so fun to have a little conversation with you.  Especially after school when you will tell me about your day.  Some days you don't feel like talking much at all, though.  You do, however, ask to say our blessings on the way to school {which is really our morning prayers}.  It thrills my heart to no end.

Oh, and before I forget, last Sunday before we left for church you asked to take your Bible with you.  'Harper Bible' you said.  You guessed it, I teared up.

Your latest food obsessions include pickles, raisins, cheese, rice, peas, applesauce and yogurt.  I feel certain you could and would live off of just these simple foods, if I allowed it.  You are feeding yourself and do a great job!

You like to 'help' fold laundry and 'dust.'  You find a wipe or toilet paper or anything and wipe down all the furniture.  Apparently we have fun-filled weekends that include lots of housework!

You are my sunshine, my sweet girl!  You light up my life in such a way that even gloomy days seem bright.  I adore you.  I cherish you.  I love you.  I pray every day that I can raise you in way that points you to the Cross!
