{day twenty five} a season of triumphs...

Last January, after a heart-breaking bowl game and all the commentary by those not pulling for my team, I wrote about all the things I loved about my alma mater, the least of which is the athletic program.

The post got over 36,000 hits.

Apparently fans from all over needed to hear the same words that were screaming in my heart. And not just fans from alma mater.

I implore those same people today to look upon this football season as an excellent achievement. A game lost to your state rival does not constitute an awful season. Nor does a game lost compromise the integrity of your academic program.

In my humblest of opinions, I believe the great state of South Carolina is blessed with excellent choices in higher education. Choices designed to meet the needs of the students seeking higher learning.

I am the proud graduate of one of those fine institutions. And each year, my diplomas mean more and more to me.

So, today, and every other day, I am grateful to be a Clemson graduate. I am thankful for their commitment to education and to graduating the leaders of tomorrow.

Congratulations my Tigers on another great football season!

'Dear ol' Clemson, we will triumph,
And with all our might
That the Tigers roar may echo,
O'er the mountain height.'
